Week 6 (Mexico City, Mexico) I'm outahere! Last week of training.

¡Hola, otra vez!     This week was another boring week. Nothing exciting happened so this email will most likely be short. Classes got even more boring, but we got to teach a lot of lessons to our teachers acting like investigators to be prepared for the field.  Today I got to go to the temple again. It was a very good session, filled with the spirit. I also bought 2 sock ties.  On Thursday I went to immigration to get my yellow card to officially be legal in Mexico. I got to see the nicer part of Mexico city. Also The Day of the Dead started today and fireworks went off at midnight and at 4:30 am so last night was probably the worst night's sleep I have ever had.  Rest of P day was pretty boring, we played basketball, called our families and just hung out.  I leave for the field on Monday the 31st at 6 am and cannot wait. I am going to miss my comp. and district a lot, but am happy to finally get to the field. I would love to hear from you all, my email is zbailey@missionary.org

Week 5 (Mexico City, Mexico) Same old same same

Hola!     This week was very boring and repetitive so I don't  have much to talk about. Classes are the same but I am still learning a lot. The food keeps getting worse and worse. My district is really tight with a lot of the workers so at all the meals they sometimes hook us up with extra food. Elder Fades (White) gives a haircut to someone in my house almost everyday. P day was awesome, we played ultimate frisbee for 2 and half hours in the morning, ping pong for a little bit and some sand volleyball. I hope when I get to the field I will have more to talk about. I would also love to hear from you all, my email is zbailey@missionary.org Love you all, Elder Bailey P.S. Sorry mom and dad, literally nothing happened this week so I had no idea what to talk about.

Week 3-4 (Mexico City, Mexico) CCM, Gunshots, and Armed Guards oh my

Hola a todos! Ten days in. I'm not gonna lie... the first week kinda sucked. I think just adjusting to missionary life in general is tough and weird. There is so much to do with so little time. I genuinely feel like I have no time for myself. Not to mention the Spanish is also so hard. But, it's all good because I have such a solid district. Seriously, they are so sick. It's been really good getting to know my companion in person. Over these past 10 days of being in person at CCM (or MTC-Missionary Training Center) we have gotten so much closer. The first week of the CCM was mainly just getting settled and figuring out where everything was, so nothing huge happened. This week we have been struggling with classes, language, and just everything being jammed packed together. Everyday feels pretty much the same but just a few things are different each day. I have also been sick for most of the time I have been here but I am finally starting to get better.  On Sunday I let my c

Leaving, on a jet plane. Won't be back for 2 years again...

Week 2 (Overland Park, KS) Online MTC Experience

Image
¡Hola a todas!     Second week of the online MTC is finally over. It has honestly been tough doing the MTC online mainly because learning a language through zoom is not ideal. Luckily on Tuesday the 4th I head to Mexico City to do 4 more weeks of in person training.      So about my week, on Monday we learned how to talk about our weekend in Spanish and how to plan a lesson for someone we could teach. Tuesday we actually taught someone over zoom in Spanish! It was really difficult and it was very hard to understand them but luckily they understood us. That was a very good experience and I can't wait to do it in person. Wednesday was just learning some more Spanish vocab and grammar, not my favorite thing to do but I know it's what helps learn the language. Thursday we played a Kahoot about fruits and vegetables (in Spanish of course) and I surprisingly won! That was really fun especially since my district is really competitive and so am I. Friday my district got a virtual tou
