Week 14 (San Salvador el Seco) Tanto Viajar (So Much Traveling)

Image
Hola!     It feels like I just wrote my last email yesterday. This week went by so fast. Last week we traveled so much I only slept in my bed 3 times. Monday, Thursday and Saturday. Last pday was good but also a little boring. We played soccer at a little stadium we found in my area but I forgot  to take a picture. Then we just went back to our apartment to call our families.      The rest of the week was filled with hanging with members  because missionary work was almost impossible. Only because we were in Puebla for most of the week. We left for Puebla on Tuesday and didn't get back until Thursday morning. Also on the way to Puebla we were on a bus with TV's  and they ended up playing the movie Venom, so I got to watch a movie! Wednesday was the missions Christmas activity and was really fun. We spent the day playing games, eating tamales, singing and listening to an awesome devotional by our mission President and his family. At the end ...

Week 13 (San Salvador el Seco) Christmas time in El Seco

Image
¡Hola amigos!     This past week was good and fast but also a little difficult. Last p-day we didn't do much, only played soccer and basketball, went to an Internet café to look at my Facebook finally haha, and have our district council. Pretty chill day.      On Tuesday we had interviews in person with Presidente Montejo and Hermana Montejo. Those went really well but they took pretty much the whole day so we didn't get to do much missionary work.      The rest of the week was honestly pretty boring so this email will probably be a little short. We mostly spent the week going to members homes to share a message about the birth of Jesus Christ and sing some Christmas songs for them. One moment in particular that was really special was when we were singing for a family and we made the mom of the family cry which almost made me cry. I know it was special because she felt the spirit so strongly that night and I did too. The song we sang was Canto de ...

Week 12 (San Salvador el Seco) My first time getting food poisoning 🤢

Image
¡Que pasa a todos!      This week was my least favorite week out of my entire mission so far. It was awful, mainly because last p-day I got food poisoning. I threw up everything I ate after our district council around 7:30pm then in the middle of the night around 3:15, I threw up again. Also after I threw up that second time, my companion gave me a blessing. I kid you not, right after he got done saying the blessing he ran straight to the toilet and just started throwing up so much. It's like he took a demon right out of me and put it upon himself. Even weirder is that he was completely fine before and after. I am pretty sure I got sick from the two quesadillas I ate that morning from a street vendor and I don't think I will be eating a quesadilla anytime soon. Luckily , in Libres they have this really good doctor with a lot of experience. It was pretty much just a normal doctors visit until he did an ultrasound thing on my stomach to see if everything was okay. It...

Week 11 (San Salvador el Seco) ¿Habla Inglés?

Image
Hola, otra vez!     This past week was one of the fastest weeks ever! Last p-day was probably the least fun p-dat we had mainly because I wasn't in a good mood. Other than not being in a good mood it was still nice to take a rest from the work.      Missionary work was really good but also not really good. We street contacted 49 people last week and out of that 49, 26 accepted a Book of Mormon! I have gotten a lot better at contacting although some people are hard to understand, so that is when I am really grateful to have a comp who understands mostly everyone and everything. Lesson wise was not great. Every time we had an appointment they would either not answer or not be home when they said they would be or they would cancel at the last minute. It also doesn't help that the people/families doing all that are the ones with a baptism date.      As you all know learning Spanish is really difficult for me but this week I really saw a differe...

Week 10 (San Salvador el Seco) Spaghetti With Meat Sauce... My Favorite

Image
Hola a todas!     This past week was really good but also really difficult at the same time. Last p day we finally got to play some sports! We played soccer, basketball and volleyball. It was so fun to finally play sports!      Tuesday we were in a trio with one of the AP's Elder Covarrubias. He is dope and is a really good missionary. We ended up putting 5 people on date for baptism with him! One family of 4 and a reference. He taught me a lot and I learned so much.      Wednesday and Thursday we were in Puebla for a multi zone conference. It was really fun, we slept at the secretaries house, ate pizza,  and played UNO. Then Thursday was the conference. It was good but I didn't understand anything, so that's great, lol. Hopefully the next one we have I can actually understand more so I can give you all some wisdom haha. Thursday was also Thanksgiving but they don't celebrate it here so we didn't do anything for it. I did get to call m...

Week 9 (San Salvador el Seco) I got a haircut...

Image
Hello everyone, I Hope you all are doing good!      This week was probably the longest week and I am not really sure why. Monday for p-day I had to spend the day in Puebla at the immigration office to change my address. So that kinda sucked. We also spent the night at another Elders apartment that night and surprised one of them with a cake for their birthday.       Not much happened this past week but the biggest thing was having to get a haircut. We get a video call from our Mission Presidents wife and she said I had to get a haircut. I was fine with that and was thinking I would just get a trim, but we got to the barbershop, she starts cutting the sides and it looks really good. Then she says something but I didn't understand her so my comp then says something to her. I have no idea what is going on and then all of a sudden she starts cutting the top super short. The haircut ends up being super bad, and uneven. I got pretty mad at my comp. So the ne...

Week 8 (San Salvador el Seco) Forget yourself and get to work

Image
Hola!     This past week went so fast, its crazy it is already my p day again. Last p day my district came to my area to spend their p day with my comp and I. We also made a big pile of mattresses and blankets and slept in the study area haha. I also gave my first blessing last week! It was to my comp and he wasn't feeling well so I anointed  and blessed him. It was a very cool experience and he let me do it in English . Then in the same week I anointed  2 more people.      Missionary work wise, it was a pretty difficult week. No one would accept the Book of Mormon, everyone kept canceling lessons so it was really tough. During a lesson we taught this older Latino  lady, she ended up feeling the spirit so much she started to cry and even though I didn't understand much I started to cry to. I ended up sharing my testimony at the end and she teared up again. I can testify to you all that the power of the Holy Ghost is real and can work miracle...
